Garrett Billings Named NLL Player Of The Week
San Diego Seals forward Garrett Billings has been named the National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Player of the Week for his performance this past week as San Diego won their second straight season series with a 13-10 road victory over the Colorado Mammoth this past Saturday in Denver. The win moves the Seals back into a tie for first place with the Saskatchewan Rush at 6-4 with eight games left to play in the regular season, including two more against the Rush (both in San Diego).
The 33-year-old veteran recorded a hat trick to go along with four assists in a seven-point effort to propel the Seals into the winner's circle on Saturday. Despite appearing in eight of the team's ten games played, Billings ranks third on the team in points (39) while scoring 12 goals and 27 assists, while also scooping up 30 loose balls.
The 2018-19 season has been an outstanding bounce-back for the Langley, B.C. native, who last played in the NLL in 2017 with the Vancouver Stealth (now the Warriors), where he posted four goals and ten assists in just four games played, a year removed from a sixty point campaign in 2016 (13g - 47a).
Along with Billings' resurgence, this season has been his play for the Seals with the man advantage. He leads the way for San Diego on the man advantage as he's potted six power-play tallies in nine opportunities.
Garrett Billings and the San Diego Seals are back on the floor this Saturday, March 16th when they host their expansion partners, the Philadelphia Wings at Pechanga Arena San Diego at 7 pm featuring a St. Patrick's Day themed game and a charitable jersey auction.
Fans will be able to bid on game-worn St. Patrick's Day themed jerseys and shorts at the Ticket Sales Booth outside of Section 4 on the North Concourse at Pechanga Arena San Diego. Saturday's game will also be shown on local Television on KSWB FOX 5 San Diego along with B/R Live.
